Committed to peace and ending war.

We are grassroots citizens committed to peace and we’re using the law to end war, genocide, and crimes against humanity by withholding all taxes until the Government obeys that law.

Taking a stand since 2003.

No Tax for War is part of the wider citizen-led Make War History movement founded by veteran peace activist Chris Coverdale and now supported by a fast-growing network of people across the UK.

Together, No Tax for War and Make War History uphold this key commitment: our taxes must not fund war, genocide, or crimes against humanity.

Chris first began withholding tax in 2003, and — after serving three prison sentences for refusing to pay council tax — took a leaf out of the elite’s playbook and began using trusts as a legal means to push back.

And since setting up his first Taxation Trust💡in 2017, Chris has remained a free man. No one can any longer argue he’s wilfully refusing to pay. Instead, he can demonstrate he’s legally setting his taxes aside until the government proves they won’t be used to pay for war crimes.

Our goal at No Tax for War is to empower others to follow Chris’s lead and start cutting off the lifeline that funds war. We believe in transparency, accountability, and using the law to uphold peace and justice. This is not a political campaign. It’s a movement built by people like you, united by conscience and determined to make war history.

Lawful rebellion and establishing our own State.

Investigating corruption. Finding a path forward.

For more than two decades, Chris Coverdale has been investigating corruption across the British political, legal, and financial systems. He exposes how government and corporate power have been used to commit and conceal unlawful acts, including war crimes and state-sponsored terrorism.

In this in-depth interview with Ben Rubin, Chris shares how his research led him to one unavoidable conclusion: Paying tax is, by the State’s own definition, illegal when that tax is used to fund acts of terrorism, genocide, and crimes against humanity.

Proving the tools.

We provide downloadable resources and community for those who want to legally and peacefully resist funding war. This includes:

Definition: Fiduciary

A fiduciary is person or organisation in a position of trust who has a legal duty to act in good faith and in the best interests of another party, such as a trustee for beneficiaries of a trust.

Placing your home in a separate trust

Creating a distinct legal trust specifically for your primary residence. This ensures that your home is no longer legally “owned” by you as an individual, but held in trust for your benefit. Doing so may offer protection against enforcement action by councils or creditors, especially if you are challenging council tax or other state demands. It is a precautionary step to reduce the risk of property seizure or legal intimidation. Legal advice is recommended before proceeding.

Definition: Trusts

A trust is a legal tool that ring-fences your money until certain conditions are met. The Make War History Taxation Trust is a conditional, revocable trust to withhold tax until it’s proven it won’t be used unlawfully — for example, to fund war.

Definition: Promissory Note

A Promissory Note is a legally binding promise to pay — but only once the trust’s conditions are met. It shows you’re not refusing to pay tax outright, just demanding it be used lawfully. This adds weight to your position and ensures the legal system recognises your intent.
